faq

  • What is a 'zine'?

According to Wikipedia: A zine (/ziːn/ ZEEN; short for magazine or fanzine) is a small-circulation self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images [...] the product of either a single person or of a very small group.
So, a fanmade anthology made by fans, for fans.

  • What is the title of the zine?

The title is, "Of Mitths and Legends: A Thrawn Anthology". Based on a joke that Thrawn's creator, Timothy Zahn, made in a recent interview where he said something along the lines of, "Thrawn is not a legend, he's a Mitth."

  • Will there be a theme to the zine?

There is no theme. There will be some rules as to what a contributor may produce, but as long as Thrawn is the main focus of the piece, most everything is fair game!

  • Who is in charge?

Check out the Mods page!

  • Is there a schedule made for the zine yet?

Yes, check out the schedule page.

  • What is the rating of the zine?

It will be for all ages but obviously within the realms of what’s typical for the franchise. Nothing gratuitous but the rules for contributors will better explain in detail what is and isn’t allowed.

  • Is the zine going to be for profit or for charity?

It will be non-profit and any profits made will go to charity. The charity of choice hasn't been decided but it will be collectively agreed upon by the contributors.

  • Will there be merchandise?

Yes, and we will be taking applications for that as well when the time comes for contributors to apply.

  • Will writers be allowed to apply?

Yes, this zine will be open to both writers and artists

  • Can contributors apply for more than one position?

Contributors may apply for more than one position, however they will be accepted as one only.

  • Can contributors submit a previous piece for their zine entry?

No, for this zine we will be asking for new pieces to be made.

  • Will traditional art mediums be allowed for the zine?

Yes, we will be accepting traditional artists. All we ask is that they get a HQ, clean scan of their piece in the proper dimensions and size that the template will specify.

  • Will contributors receive a copy of the zine once it's been completed?

Contributors are guaranteed a pdf copy of the zine. Physical copies will be provided if enough orders are made. In the case of order numbers not being reached, contributors will be able to purchase a physical copy of the zine at a significant discount.

  • Will a copy be sent to Zahn?

No, since we're including fanfiction, there is a chance of possible conflicts regarding copyright law.
